Christmas Spirit

Gustav announced the Spirit day

Gustav announced the Spirit day

Tuesday was Orchestra’s spirit day.

We put the batteries in the hat - look at the flashing red lights!

The orchestra girls and I wore matching Gustav hats around school all day…

Here we are before orchestra....

…and played a piece backwards in class.

We played with our hats on in orchestra class!

We wore our hats for the backwards experiment.

To play the music backwards, we started at the end of Evening Prayer and played every single note from the end to the beginning. I recorded it on my camera, so hopefully I will be able to find someone who knows how to play a movie in reverse.

Looking back to another instance of orchestra’s Christmas spirit:

My student's mom took this picture when we went to the nursing home last week.

My study hall is also starting to get into the Christmas spirit. After asking permission, we started decorating the windows with our snowflakes.

This is the first batch of window snowflakes.

For the next week, we will continue to add to the collection until the whole section of windows is covered in snowflakes!

All of the students have presented their Bible study topics/passages. Tomorrow we will be doing a prayer walk around the school, and next week will be some reflections on Christmas – the real meaning, not just snowflakes and good deeds and light-up hats.

Immanuel – God with us – what an incredible thought! Tomorrow, we will walk with Him in prayer as He walked with us.
